Jobs for non-native speaker with o/s tertiary qualifications

Hey guys,

I have been thinking about moving to Busan for a while to stay with my girlfriend and train Jiu Jitsu. From what I have gathered from various forums, the job market for foreigners pretty much revolves around education and the ESL teaching industry.

However, since I am born in Sweden it seems that I won't be able to qualify for an E2 visa so I am currently looking at other options. One would be a working holiday visa (new agreement between Sweden and S Korea as per this year) or an F-2 spouse visa.

What is a Certificate of Employment History and where can I get one?

I'm interested in applying to some jobs, however they (the potential employer) want me to provide a 경력증명서 (Certificate of Employment History). I don't mind doing the leg work to get one, but I don't really know what it is or where to get it. It's obvious to figure out what it is, but it still doesn't explain whether it is done by immigration, a consulate, or by individual employers writing letters stating your employment period.

Places looking for F-2 visa holders in Busan..(nice try but......

I still can not fathom how many hogwans still think that they can attract F2 peoples with E2 conditions.

If you want and F2/F5 visa holder you need to provide better condiiton other than a salary carrot! Even is there is enough asperin in the world to teach the precious for 8hours a day but 50 weeks a year? Are you kidding me?

How can I get an employment verification form?

Hello all,

Does anyone know how to get an employment verification form? Do I need to ask my big boss, or can I get it from the secretary/admin? (If possible, I want to avoid telling my employer that I am considering moving onto another school.)

Any information would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks.

pay per class-not hour, and more

I wish this site would require job posters to mention the number of classes one must teach instead of just listing hours as this is misleading. There are alwasy public school jobs posted on here starting at 12:40 for 4 hours at 30 per hour but you are actually teaching 5 classes so you are making less than 25 per class. This at a public school in 2010? This is terrible pay. If I saw this I would not even bother sending out a text and so on but... Manager, can you please require people to mention the following info:

The location

The start and finish time

teaching Doctors

35 to teach doctors is a joke. 7 bucks a head? I dont think so. The Korean government pays a certain amount for continuing education so you can be sure this person is making over 100 per hour on you. Just a word to the wise-this is a sucker job. The other post on here where he made 100 per hour is more accurate.

Visa Interview Question

I am in Korea at the moment waiting for my E2 visa confirmation number so I can schedule my interview.

This is my first E2 visa, I had a D2 visa in the past when I studied in Seoul around 2008.

My recruiter is telling me I can take care of my E2 with a visa run to Japan. It was my impression that since this was my first E2 I had to go to Guam.

This is what it says on HiKorea
