Relaxed but cultured place to live?

Hi everyone,

I am currently getting my ducks in a line to teach. I am taking a TEFL course and need to let my program know where I would like to teach in order for them to hook me up with appropriate recruiters. I am a recent graduate from university and am living in Ohio, US. I have some friends outside of Seoul, but am considering perhaps Daegu or Busan (any other city recommendations would be helpful, too).

Have a nice day.

Legal jobs without a degree?

I'm curious about the availability of LEGAL jobs without a University degree.

My elder brother has long experience in many fields in life but our country has a bid financial problem, so he is going to finish his small business. So I've been trying to get him to move to Korea and stay with me to get a job. I'm looking for any work possibilities he might be able to pursue.

Maximum # of hours @ EPIK or Hagwon

My current EPIK school has given me 27 hours and in addition I am expected to work in the English cafe during lunch.  I have strong opinions about this, but my question is...what has been the maximum number of hours anyone has worked at an EPIK job, or for that matter at a Hagwon?...in EPIK is 30+ class hours a week feasible?  I imagine it is in a Hagwon.  Just trying to ascertain what the ceiling may be.

F2 Visa and working options while under contract

Hi all,

I'm currently an F2 visa holder with an EPIK job.  My current job is not pleasant--27 hours on my schedule and lunch break work, with no discipline in the classroom.

Is there anything I should be aware of if I were to say suddenly quit and look for another job.  I've heard talk about obtaining a letter of release, et al.  Are there any blind spots I should be aware of before I embark on finding different work?

Advice for job interview

Hello, hoping for anyone to have some advice for me. I will have an interview this weekend for a position with ECC in Southern South Korea. I was told it was about 30 minutes from Busan. Any idea where this would be? I'm currently going through a recruiter who is from worknplay. I didn't plan on it that way, but it just kind of worked out. The guy seems to be geniunely nice. I got into this fairly late. I submitted my FBI background check about mid july. The recruiter said there was job openings all year. However, I am wondering if this is really true.

Fukuoka Visa Run

Hello all,

I'm currently making preparations for a visa run to Fukuoka in August. I plan to fly using Air Busan and have found a weekday flight that arrives into Fukuoka at 1050, I had heard that visa applications are taken until 1200 and wondered if I had enough time to make it from the airport to the consulate in an hour?

Thanks,

Steve

Private 1-on1 tutor rate for businessman

Does anyone know the going rates for private tutoring businessmen/women?

It will be an hourly session once a week and the students are businessmen/businesswomen who work at big corporations.  It will all be one-on-one sessions.

The tutoring is going to consist of reviewing their business presentations, checking their grammar/expressions, etc.

As for my qualifications, I've worked in the financial industry for many years.  I'm a native English speaker and I also can speak, read, write Korean as well.

Thanks!
