E2 Visa Reapplication

I finished my contract on July 3rd, 2012 and left the country. I was told by a possible employer that I had 90 days to reapply for a renewed visa using the same documents that I used to get my previous E2 Visa. I would then enter the country on a tourist visa within those 90 days, reapply for the visa, then fly to Japan, visit the Korean Consulate there, and fly back into the country on a new E2 visa.

Can anyone verify this 90 day grace period and the possiblity of reapplying the same documents used for the previous E2 visa?

Teaching over Skype?

Hi,

I'm interested in teaching English over Skype to Koreans. Can anyone give me any advice about where I can find students and how much to charge? And if there's anything else I should know about teaching Koreans over type, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,

Andrea

Paying for a supply teacher?

I just wanted some opinions on if this is common/ normal for a Hagwon.  I've been pretty sick the last couple of days and after seeing a Dr. he suggested I take a day off of work. When I showed my school the note they said I would have to pay (about $270)for a supplementary teacher.

Is this normal? I've never heard of an ESL teacher having to pay for a substitue.  Thoughts?

Recently there was a post on here about someone having the record length of time for teaching without a visa.  Well now I cannot find it.  Has anyone one else seen it or know who it was that wrote it?

Thank you

E-2 FBI CBC Misdemeanor Question

I'm F-4, and I'm not very familiar with E-2 questions so I thought I'd ask here.

I recently caught up with a buddy back stateside who asked me about teaching in Korea, and got him interested. I sent him the necessary links and such to get him started. He then asked me about the FBI CBC.

He has a low-level misdemeanor on his record, cited as Exhibition of Speed. Basically he said he squealed his tires and got ticketed. He said he was not arrested for the misdemeanor, but pleaded guilty and paid a fine with community service. This is was nearly 8 years ago.

Vacation time

Does anybody have any idea why the jobs which I am seeing posted now offer such little or short vacation time?  This even seems to be so with the public school positions.  They want us to come from our native countries, but yet they do not seem to understand for us to go back there, since it takes so long traveling, we need about a three week stretch for it to be worth.
