Job specification- to understand that nobody wants you there, globalization isn't important and neither are you. Therefore, you are an underling and will soon become a pointless relic. Do the bare minimum and know your place within the organizational structure. Do not have any ideas!!

University reputation: does it matter in Korea for getting a job?

I will soon be finishing my MSc at Imperial College, which in the West is generally considered a world renowned university with an exceedingly high reputation (note I don't think much of it but that is another story) in the West. Do Koreans know of it? or better put would people hiring at universities know of it?

Any info is appreciated and cheers...

Repayment of Recruiter Fee

Hi,

Does anybody have the low-down on whether or not I - as an ESL instructor- would have to pay back the recruiter fee if I break my contract early (after 6 months)?

I have tried to find information in the labor standards contract guff, but without luck. I understand that the labor standards override individual contracts between hagwons and instructors. This being the case, even if the contract specifies I have to repay the recruiter fee, do I really have to?

UK Police Check

Hi.

I am from the UK and I need advice on obtaining a Police check for employment here.

I have a F2. I been working for myself so not needed a background check before. I have decided I want to enter into public school employment and have been advised I will need a background check.

I have been online and found there are 2 types!! A "Basic Disclosure" which costs 10 pound and a "ACRO" which costs 35 pounds - which one do I need??

What is the process etc etc

How long does it take to process?

WTF- Recruiters, do you care???

Don't normally care about such things. However, I saw a job on here today for 2.1m, based in a non- event City. It was an 8 hour per day job, posted by a famous recruiter. Recruiters , please stop lining your pockets and do more to help the people who give you a living. Without us, you are nothing!!!That is at least a 2.6m job for those hours. If the hours were normal, I would'nt say much. That's just ripping people off, if you ask me.

Anyone know about this job?

Just a word to the wise-someone here keeps posting jobs under the ielts name. It is up there all the time.

This very well and easily could be immigration looking to bust people who are trying to find illegal jobs.

You may think no way and you could be right but this post goes up every week it seems. One states they are

looking for a pilates instructor or something like that and the other one claims they just want to brush up

on their english. Sounds fine but it is being posted every week or second week for the last couple of

vacation time?

what is considered vacation time?   am i right to assume that vacation time is days you agree are your vacation time for days off in a row (or 1 at a time) of your own choosing (with maybe some blackout dates)?  also, am i correct in thinking that  vacation time does not include scheduled days off (where the school is not open) or korean holidays?  finally, am i correct in thinking that we are guaranteed a minimum of 10 vacation days a year?

thanks for any and all help!
