Hello! I am a new to this business here and looking for some help.

My friend who had taught in Busan for a year, has convinced me to go and has advised me to make a post here.

I am looking for a basic 9-5 job in Busan. Any suggestions??

What are some credible or good places to work?

What places offer the best ammendities (i.e. room, flight, medical, etc...)

I would be starting in August/September.

Any and All suggestions are welcome.

Thanks!!

Kang Shin Who's latest article in Korea Times

"The bill is to mandate foreign English teachers to submit documents proving no criminal and drug records, whenever they are hired or transferred to other hagwon. It is because some E-2 or English teaching visa holders, once caught for taking drugs or sexually harassing children, were often found to be rehired at hagwon.

''Teaching little kids in Geoje Island!!!!!!!It is very prestigious kids program in Korea and they are looking for a teacher who is good at with younger kids. ''

Please....it's a kids hogwan and with hours like that when would you see this beautiful island?

Man, I wish people would give more information in regards to the actual jobs instead of trying to steroid it up with distractions. I mean what do apples and fashion have to do with teaching in Daegu?  nothing.

Fukuoka Visa Run

I have just returned after being out of the country for some time and am looking for info with regards to the Fukuoka visa run. There used to be a guide to the whole process on this site of what to do once you arrive at the ferry terminal in Fukuoka, but a search has turned up nothing. If that guide no longer exists, can anyone help with info about where to get on the subway once you are downtown and what stop to get off to reach the Korean Consulate. The last time I did a visa run was 2006, so my memory is sketchy. It will all come back to me once I am there again I'm sure.

Busan Jobs - Age Limits?

I am a 49 year old American with a B.A. I have no TEFL certificates.

I have 2 years of ESL experience in Austria, Greece, Spain and Taiwan. I have years of audit, accounting, tax, and hotel experience.

I am interested in  teaching English in Korea. I think Busan would be a more desirable place than Seoul. I want to teach adults or corporate learners.

Pay???

What is going on here? 13 000 WON an hour for kindie? 20 000Won for 3 weeks at a hagwon. 18 000WON an hour for another kindie job. Why is the pay going lower? Well, people keep on taking these jobs and keeping EVERYONE'S pay down. This is crap pay people! My wife is Korean and makes 25 or more per hour for teaching English. Why are you taking less? Go back home if you think 13 an hour is good money because you can more there. Part time should be at a minimum 30 a class-not 18 an hour. Are you kidding me?
