PRESS
“Her band mates, all slicked-up pompadours, U.S. Navy tattoos and cut-off sleeves, made old-school moves straight out of Memphis, one spinning a big slap bass decorated in flames and leopard print, with the rhythm guitarist named Tiger crouching, gyrating, peeling off exaggerated guitar strokes. The rockabilly riffs flowed, one into the other, minus any preening breaks between songs, with Velvet Geena's smile beaming nonstop. This was a band that wasn't taking itself too seriously, just five talented musicians having fun with another culture's music they were seamlessly making their own.”
John M. Glionna - L.A. Times

“Out on Nov. 18, "Rockabilly Coaster" features reworked tracks from "Rock 'n' Roll Licence" alongside Japanese and Korean covers of The Venus' "Kiss wa Me ni Shite." "Geena speaks Japanese and Conny helped her create Japanese lyrics for some of our songs," says Tiger. "Geena and Conny dueted on a Korean version of The Venus' song that we are including as a bonus track." Conny with Yoshi & Dynners will appear with The RockTigers during their Japan dates. She and The RockTigers are also planning to team up for an American jaunt next July.”
Shawn Despres - The Japan Times

"It's not everyday you see a slap bass in the hands of a Korean. Or see a Korean that might be confused for Elvis in the right light. Few other bands can entertain both a mosh pit and swing dancing on the same floor - at the same time. Throw out your old rules - these are rockabilly rules."
Chris Backe - Groove Magazine (April 2010)

"We were impressed with the group’s stage presence and creativity. Most Korean pop music, K-Pop, is boring, obnoxious, and designed to be catchy, and thrives on sex appeal, and monetization. The RockTigers nail the appearance, and energy that any good live show should have, and their music doesn’t lie down either. Velvet Geena’s powerful voice, Tiger and Eddie’s wailing guitars, and the pounding of Roy’s bass and Jack’s kick drum, nag at that voice that say 'dance.'"
