Calvertron (real name Alex Calver) was the producer/engineer behind one of the UK’s most groundbreaking music duo’s ‘Twocker’ and has been a full time musician/ music producer and international dj since 2002, with around 100 vinyl releases under his belt in various forms of Electronic music he’s certainly no new comer to the industry.

Following a string of kick-ass reworkings and awesome productions, this lad has found himself the subject of attention from the biggest artists & record labels in the business. Support has come form the biggest dj’s in the industry such as Erick Morillo, Armand Van Helden, John Digweed, Roger Sanchez and the main man himself, Mr Pete Tong, who has regularly showcased the fruit of his production on both his Thursday night ‘New Music’ show as well as the Friday night institution that is the Essential Selection. He even includes the Twocker re-edit of Armand Van Helden’s classic remix of CJ Bolland’s ‘Sugar is Sweeter’ in the ‘Six Pack’ feature. (The same track was one of the nominations as Remix of the year 2008 in DJ Mag.)

Calvertron’s versatility as a producer knows no bounds, from Jacking/Electro House to minimal techno & Tech house he is becoming one of the leaders on the global scene. An accomplished DJ and Producer, his energetic DJ sets are just like the tracks he makes, impossible to pigeonhole with all the excitement of a frog in a blender.

These Days Alex’s work can be found on super labels ranging from Cr2, Ministry of Sound and Fingerlickin Records to labels all around the globe including DJ Dan’s ‘Instereo’, Bass Kleph’s ‘Vacation Records’, Laid Back Luke’s ‘Chop Chop’, ‘Incharge’ and ‘Bugeyed’. His name headlines all over clubs in the UK from Ministry of Sound and Turnmills to the Que Club and a whole host of nights up n down the country. He’s been all over the globe including every continent bar Antarctica and if there was a club down there he would be there too.

With upcoming releases on the mighty ‘Toolroom’ & ‘Cr2′ under his new guise ‘Kalva’ & the start of his new label ‘jackKnife Records’ Alex is spreading his wings in exciting new area’s so watch this space…
