Re: Looking for an English speaking Dental office
In Seomyeon, there is a place called San Francisco. It's located in Judie's Taehwa building (up on the 3rd or 4th floor). There is a big sign and you can access it from the back of that building, on the first street back parallel with the main street. The dentist is always friendly and studied in the States, so speaks English. Highly recommend that place, and the prices are really good compared to the West and also the dental offices in Seoul.

Ok....great my husband needed to find a place for dental too. I'm actually a stay at home mom but I definitely will let him know about the Shalom dental clinic. Thanks!!
Re: Looking for an English speaking Dental office
I took my very nervous 12 year old son to the childrens dental clinic across the road from Emart, nr Haeundae. It is on the 8th floor, don't know its name (Childrens Dental Centre, I think)! The nurses spoke little English, the dentist is taking lessons (in Engish not dentistry!) & all were absolutely lovely and very professional. My son had conscious sedation and a horrible root canal filling in a private room with a tv on the ceiling. I could not fault the staff - I speak no Korea btw! But I could see from my sons xray something was a miss.
Don't know how old your child is but the place is decked out like a kiddies play area, it is barely recognisible as a dentist office. So my12 year old felt a bit silly! But he was very happy with the treatment & results.

I didn't bother calling it was easier to go in person to make appointments. They would text me a reminder.

Yes!!! That is the place I was wondering about....I shop at the plant shop near there. I definitely will be going to see them on Monday. Thanks a lot
Re: Looking for an English speaking Dental office
Just to confirm I was talking about the childrens dentist in the tall building across the pedestrian crossing from the main entrance of Emart where the taxis park (above the Paris Baguette and coffee shops etc). You can't see the dental clinic from the street. You need to go in side the building. I did visit the childrens dental clinic on the same side as Emart (just before you get to Emart nxt to the garage / plant shop) but I didn't really get a good feeling from them. They also would not give a child as old as my son concsious sedation. It was that dental clinic that sent me over the road to the 8th floor. I hope that makes sense??

Re: Looking for an English speaking Dental office
Oh my....I went to the one next to EMart and yes she is going to perform a procedure on my 6 yr old son next Saturday and stated that he must be 10 years or older for concsious sedation. (She will be giving him local though) Her prices are awesome but now Im wondering if I should check the one across the street....I just want my son to be comfortable.
Re: Looking for an English speaking Dental office
Okay that same dentist told me my son was too old for her to sedate him! He was 12 at the time! Try the one across the street.
I always looked for a paediatric dentist that had a separate (private) treatment room and one I felt comfortable with (speaking perfect English was never important). My son had concscious sedation in Korea when he was as young as 6. Its just a little gas & air through a nose piece! Although my daughter hated it. Made her feel sick. So it depends on the child.
& when you say "local" do you mean those horrible injections in the gums? They are given that anyway. The gas and air just takes the edge of the experience and makes is bearable.
My children had good (as good as it can be!) experiences of children's dentists in Korea.
Best of luck.
