Say, What?

Teaching ESL can be stressful, it can also be hilarious.  Now that both my Kindergarteners and my Elementary students are writing more,  more of these lovely little gems pop up.

This first one was in my Kindergarten Phonics book.  I figured I’d start you off with something tame.  I know it’s for sound comparison, but I still find it odd to put these two words together.

This next piece of writing is thanks to one of my 2nd graders.  I know it’s not always the case, but I do think the fact that the sentence was written by a boy makes it funnier.

I hope he grows out of that sentiment.

If neither of those strike your fancy, never fear for I have saved the best for last.

Thanks to one of my Kindergarten girls, I will never forget that Tom is a silly boy.

Oh to be in Kindergarten again.
