Random pictures – 40 posts

Because the ‘Random Pictures’ thing has done so well, this will feature a few more random pictures than normal. As usual, these are photos I’ve taken while traveling and living in Korea that didn’t fit with any other posts.

I love public art in Korea. Seen across the street from Seoul Station is a wonderful, colorful set of art involving people biking.

Buddhism and Christmas lights together? Sure, why not? Seen in Haebongcheon, Seoul.

What happens when you put a thin layer over a hot, powerful lamp? Yeah, it burns. Seen at a bar in Hongdae, Seoul.

Who cares if it’s the Year of the Rabbit? Choose any animal you like. Seen at Samsong station in Goyang city (northeast of Seoul).

Watch out for Kias trying to fly – or backs of cars attempting to be advertisements. Seen near Apgujeong station.

Because charm bracelets hang on fences so often. Seen in Haebongcheon, Seoul.

It seems a bit late to post Christmas photos, but this one was worth it. Seen in Nampo-dong, Busan.

Busan has plenty to see in the wintertime, and these lights in Seohyeon are no exception.

I love you too. Seen between Namsan Park and Myeong-dong station in central Seoul.

This. Is. Awesome. In case you don’t own a smartphone or have never played Angry Birds, this is arguably to modern gaming what Mario was when twentysomethings were growing up. It only seems appropriate to have stuffed versions of them.

Continuing the tradition of Buddhism and music, just with a modern twist. Seen during my recent trip to Beomeosa temple in Busan.

A little ironic that a low-speed electric car might not be welcome on this street… Found in southern Seoul, near the Heolleung and Illeung tombs.
