Kindergarten: How We Work

The other day I found this photo that I had already forgotten about.  It was taken of me and my kindergarten class on the first of our Monthly Field Trips, and man does it accurately portray the dynamic of my class even now (although I will say they are a lot better than they once were).

From Left to Right: Clara looking tentative while trying to figure out what to do with this situation and how to best use it to her advantage,  Speed goofing around with his eyes closed on purpose probably waiting for the next moment he can go bounce off the walls,  Leo- doing the exact opposite of what I want, Me- trying to squeeze inbetween all of them thinking about how this is pretty much as fruitless as trying to heard cats, Holly- who is happy and eager to please with her 'monster hands', and Owen- off in his own world not phased by any of it.

Orion Class was not one that was won over quickly by their wacky new foreign teacher at the start of the school year, especially for some of the students that had been at Worwick for a year already.  Thankfully they've realized that they're stuck with that weird Jenna teacher, and things are much less of a fight.

Just a month later, I've got 2 of the 5 looking at the same camera and at least now they're all facing the same direction with their eyes open.
