On February 26, Ben Henderson, the half Korean and half black mixed martial artist, fought a close and grueling 25-minute championship fight against former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar(who had not lost a single fight in nearly four years!), and won.

Henderson is probably one of the most humble fighters in the UFC. In 2010, after winning a match, Henderson, who cites his mother for giving a strong work ethic, immediately flew back to work at his mother’s grocery store—where he spends “a couple of 17-hour days stocking shelves and ringing up customers at the register.”

Also, joining a new wave of Christian athletes, Henderson is a proud Christian who is known for quoting scriptures afters wins.
