A Korean American man charged with the attempted murder of two gang members in May 1997 was found in South Korea, running a SAT academy in Apgujeong under a false identity.

Identified only by his surname, Kim was a member of a Korean American gang in Los Angeles, and had fled to Korea with a forged passport and driver’s license, reports JoongAng Daily.

Although he had never attended college, Kim set up his own SAT prep academy using his forged academic record to claim he was a UCLA graduate.

The Seoul police has agreed to cooperate with the U.S. authorities should they request Kim’s extradition.
