On Naver, the Anti English Spectrum, and what's next check your facts wakold! Other post is right! Jay Vander

Out of all 30 OECD countries, Korea is number 1 in suicides. It is number 1 in chledren dying via car accidents and car accidents. Number 1 in divorces. Top 5 in drinking and smoking. It goes on and on. Look it up!

And the imagine is exactly what was explained-a way to spread hate of foreigners. How long have you lived here "Protector of Korea"? When the Korean...

On Naver, the Anti English Spectrum, and what's next Hey buddy, you seem to have wakold

Hey buddy, you seem to have somewhat misinterpreted my comments.. I am in no way saying Korea is a paradise and it is a beautiful country where everything is nice and shiny. If I did say that, I would be happy that you quote that part for me.

Every single country in the world has its problems and its share of annoying things, and nowhere in the world there are some ''paradise"...

Withdrawing money in Korea with a foreign card Withdrawal tonyjkitchen

I also use a debit card (from a Credit Union in America, though I doubt that makes any difference.)  I can use any ATM.  I think you should contact your bank.  I remember I told my bank I was going to be living overseas.  I think many debit cards prevent international withdrawals for security puporses (for example, if your card was "stolen" over the Internet)....

On Naver, the Anti English Spectrum, and what's next wakold. Do you really know barbel

wakold. Do you really know what you are saying? The picture above is supposedly relating to illegal teachers. If this was the case, then i would tend to agree with it........and even see the funny side. However, the people that wrote this have a much deeper agenda. Their main purpose is to spread hate about all foreigners in Korea, not just illegal English teachers.

Everone has...

On Naver, the Anti English Spectrum, and what's next Well was I not right? Here is wakold

Well was I not right? Here is another shining example of another ignorant Korea bashing foreigner. You know what? If Korea is so bad, why do you even live here? That might be because that MRI figure up there is partially true isn't it?

Foreigners like to talk about Korea with their dodgy statistics probably taken from a foreigner hater's blog or probably just from word to mouth or ...

Withdrawing money in Korea with a foreign card I remember similar problems mattsid

I remember similar problems when I first moved here. If I remember rightly if you are using a debit card, you have to select the credit card option when withdrawing money. Even if there is an option for debit card, don't select it.

On Naver, the Anti English Spectrum, and what's next korea Paul Gaasenbeek

number 1 in suicides. number one in car accidents. number 1 in children dying due to car accidents. top 5 in both drinking and smoking...kinda hard to look into the mirror when you look like this. ignorance is not bliss-it is pain. i think it is good many of us are here so we can educate the ignorant mass-allagory of the caves. it is not to say people here are bad but the reality is most older...

Well, I agree that the anti english spectrum is going way too far with some of their comments and actions, but I found the picture hilarious haha

I want to work out. Please help! An idea megrush

I have a great yoga teacher who lives in Geumnyeonsan, but can probably meet you in Seomyeon. She offers private lessons and is really professional and great at what she does. I am a person who is really hard to get motivated and as far from flexible as one can be, but I go to her 3 times a week and on my off days, I actually feel motivated to do it on my own. If you want, I can give you her...

Withdrawing money in Korea with a foreign card Hey there, thanks for your wakold

Hey there, thanks for your reply.

I didn't have any problems with my other credit card (australian one), however with my debit card it was the same story (either canadian or australian), even though I click "foreign card" and all, it keeps saying the transaction cannot be made, only the VISA card is working. Do you withdraw yourself money with a debit card? Or do you use a...

Paying up a contract and converting to a prepay plan. Possible? To terminate a contract with 143busan
To terminate a contract with a cell phone carrier, you have to pay a termination fee. The amount varies from carrier to carrier. Now, if you have a phone that was purchased through the payment installment program that they offer, you'll have to pay that up in full, along with the termination fee. As far as switching, I'm not sure. I'm guessing that you'll have to get a whole new phone number...

Withdrawing money in Korea with a foreign card Yes, you can withdraw money tonyjkitchen

Yes, you can withdraw money from just about any ATM with a normal bank card.

When you do the transaction, click on "English", "Withdraw", and then something along the lines of "Foreign card not domestic".

If you have trouble, it might be because your bank is seeing a withdrawal from another country.  In that case, you should...

Question from a reader: financial obligations abroad Emergency fund lee-bum-suk

Yes, Chris I think your list should include an 'emergency fund'. Logically before one would come to this country.

I've seen this a thousand times. People show up totally destitute or by means uncontrolled by them experience a hogwan firing, repayment of flight by the school garnishing their first pay leaving them wonless. Another example if is the school pays...

Question from a reader: financial obligations abroad Stock market people are much lee-bum-suk

Stock market people are much like gamblers; you never hear how much they loose only how much they win/gain.

Some people do well in the stock market, I think they are very far and few between. Most people, especially English teachers with their limited amount of wealth should be more interested in preservation of their button collection than of ...

Amatuer Football/Soccer Teams in Busan Meant to reply ages ago to mattsid

Meant to reply ages ago to this, but never go round to it, sorry.

As things stand there are only 2 active foreign teams in Busan at the moment, compared to 4 or 5 a few years back. However to compensate for this they now play against teams from across the country.

Personally I don't play. But you can check out the leagues website here
