Braaivleis, rugby, sunshine and Klippies. They go together in the good ol' ROK. Ok, so there's no Springbok rugby fixture, but Monday 24th September is Heritage Day/National Braai Day, and I can't think of a better way to celebrate than with some lekker geselskap (company), 'n stuk braaivleis in my one hand and a glass in the other. Come on down to Moose from 4 in the afternoon to enjoy a taste of Mzansi (South Africa) and what's left of the warm weather. The cost of the meal is 19 000W. This includes a boerewors roll, lamb chop, chicken as well as potato salad and green salad, and the use of the grill and utensils. It may seem a bit steep, but we've tried very hard to keep the costs down and as you all know, boerewors and lamb are precious commodities on this side of the world. Moose will have a few grills set up, so you can braai the meat yourself (just as you would back home) and then help yourself to the salads on the table. Hunters Dry, Klipdrift and springbokkies will also be on sale at the bar. We'll be playing South African music that'll get you off your chairs and have you dancing in no time. Everyone's guaranteed to have a "jol". Anybody and everybody is invited to come and celebrate with us. If you are interested in contributing to the entertainment that evening, give me or Moose a shout. We thought it would be awesome to have a few South Africans and honourary South Africans perform a few home grown numbers. There will also be a raffle or two up for grabs on the day. But first things first. In order to get your hands on the braaivleis, you need to pre-order and deposit the money into the following bank account.
