Sometimes when I think about all the environmental issues of today I get overwhelmed. It's easy to think that we are only one person, how can we do much good? But yet, after speaking with a very wise monk this week, I have not lost heart. He used this metaphor: How can you eat an elephant? If you try to eat the whole elephant in one day you will get very sick, right? But if you just eat it piece by piece you can eat the whole elephant. This is our elephant it may be ginormous and daunting but we can start today and we can eat it piece by piece!! SOOOOOOOO Put on a Green shirt and join me for a Busanian Earth Day event! Our event will start by gathering together for a short discussion of current environmental issues. Followed by a short walk along the Gwangan Beach to pick up litter. (there is a festival being held here so there should be plenty to grab..lol) We will also have other green activities (TBD at our meeting on the 22nd in Oncheonjang see the calendar for details) AND a listing of environmental agencys, NGO's, Nonprofits in Busan. Bring with you a green shirt gloves (if ya got some handy) A plastic bag or a recepticle to put some litter we'll sort and recycle nearly all of what we find! :) Lets meet at the East Village Cafe on Gwangan Beach 2nd floor Exit the green line Gwanganli stop and head toward the beach. Look for the Hotel Homers. It is located next to Haagendaz Ice Cream and Hotel Homers with a view of the beach and the Gwangan Bridge. Looking forward to seeing you there!
