Just a quick update on the photowalk a few weeks ago. As you know, we had many talented photographers with us and I was very happy with the turnout.  However, for the local contest, it was Macbeth Omega that one our contest! Not only that, but he was one of the TOP TEN FINALISTS!!

I knew when I saw the image that it was a winner. In fact I stopped myself numerous times from hitting the “choose as the winner” button just in case I was rushing it. However, the more I looked at it, the more I liked it. It is just one of those photos that makes you might wander. Above, you can see what Scott thought of Macbeth’s shot.

The reason why I chose it as a winner over all of the other shots was the fact that it was so well-timed and vibrant that you know it would be very hard to replicate. This was a true depiction of a “decisive moment” at least in my opinion anyway. You have the people walking down the hill and the sunbeams directly behind them. It just draws your eye to the people and you follow the line along the hills. It is just such a unique shot that you know Macbeth had to be at the right place at the right time to get it.

During the photowalk, I ran back to pick up my car and I saw Macbeth shortly after he probably too the shot. He had a big smile on his face (he always does) and I knew he got something good. He broke off from the group early in order to get this shot as I believe this was taken from the tombs just across from the main Daereungwon park. I am so happy for Macbeth as it shows that creativity and skill can pay off.

At any rate, I hope to see you all again next year and thank you to everyone that came out for the photowalk.
