Job Description

The primary purpose for this position is to help customers understand the technology behind our Content Delivery Network. This position would be responsible for educating customers on Limelight Networks, its solutions and how this will meet the customer needs. In addition, this person would work with Account Managers and the Network Operations Center to make sure post-sales customer needs are also met.

Desired Skills & Experience

The chosen individual will work in territory to assist the sales team in achieving specific direct sales revenue goals by managing the technical sales portion of any prospect using a thorough understanding of Limelight Networks’ technologies. To develop major technical pre-sales design recommendations and related justifications within the context of defined and client-approved requirements and constraints. Working on owning and managing all technical aspects of RFP’s and RFI’s. Continue to work with existing accounts in order to communicate account status with the sales team and customer staff, collaboratively working to ensure that all accounts remain appraised of solutions and are trained how best to leverage Limelight Networks.

Excellent web experience required. Knowledge of basic web development and ecommerce would be ideal. A great candidate for this opportunity has solid use of the internet every day to understand how websites work and interact with other systems and the end users. This would encompass HTTP headers, requests, caching and the reporting and analysis needs.

A broad understanding of how the Internet Backbone is designed, implemented and sold. Any good candidate should understand what Peering Exchanges and Transit are. Built on this he/she should know the network technologies including: topologies, routing, gateways, firewalls, and troubleshooting techniques.

Solid understanding of Internet multimedia technologies including: Adobe Flash, Microsoft Windows Media and Smooth Streaming, Real and Quicktime along with other mobile specific technologies. In addition, solid knowledge of the protocols they use (RTMP, HTTP, RTSP, SSL, etc.)

It would be beneficial if the candidate also had some type of sales experience. This position works with potential customers and existing clients daily. The ideal candidate needs to be able to communicate with all levels of customer contacts. For example: CIO’s, CTO’s, webmasters, developers, network engineers, etc.) Good written and oral skill are needed in English and Spanish, strong organizational skills are a must.

Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required. With a demonstratable understanding of CDN network infrastructure, including skills such as web applications, caching solutions, web acceleration, streaming, operating systems (unix, linux), networking and general internet technologies.
