The Kimchi Queen is back from the US and ready to dive back into Korean gay culture! It looks like I'll be pretty busy with posting for a while. I'll start from the very beginning (a very good place to start); G-Voice, the gay men's chorus in Seoul, is holding their annual fall concert this weekend.I went to a G-Voice concert last fall with my ex and C. It was a pretty good concert, though it did drag on for a bit. My favorite song was definitely their ode to Jongno sung to Dassin's 'Aux Champs Elysees'. I remember thinking to myself that I wanted to join the chorus group, but nothing ever came of that. It would be a great way to meet some other Korean gays in Seoul and practice Korean...
Seoul Art Cinema is a 5 minute walk from Exit #5 of Jongno 3 ga Station (Seoul Subway Line 1, 3, 5). Take a quick u-turn from exit 5 and walk under the covered bridge/tunnel. You'll see an entrance on your left and you can take the elevator up to the fourth floor to the Seoul Art Cinema. I would imagine you can get tickets at the door if you get there a little early, but I'll probably stop by the Art Cinema sometime this week and reserve a pair; this would definitely make a good date.
