My favorite thing about Korean restaurants: the yeogiyo buttons. Yeogiyo (여기요) means “Excuse me,” but is roughly translated as “Please come here.” These awesome buttons are located at most restaurant tables. Upon pushing the button, you hear a lovely ring (which has now become music to my ears) and waitstaff is immediately summoned.

My least favorite thing about Korean restaurants: the plethora of smokers and my inability to get away from them. Don’t even bother learning how to ask for a non-smoking section (금연석으로 주셰요, geumyeon seokeuro juseyo, if you’re curious), because I haven’t found one yet.
