::featured artist:::cat daze:: Solo Exhibition This Month

a. favorite art material- anything I can touch and work with my hands– Clay, rubber stamps, sculpture

b. places of inspiration- I climb a mountain by my house  called Imhosan at least once a week and I love to see the season change there–it always inspires me.

c. favorite website- postsecret.com and http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/in_pictures/ its informative and the pictures are amazing everyday!

d. what provokes you to create art- I don’t know.  I just know that If I am not creating something I don’t feel happy.  I always have an urge to create.  I also really like to do things my self (DIY) I always think ” Why can’t I make that?!” and then  I try.

See her work here,

This genuine spirit actively promotes the local artist community. She creates beautiful pieces that often serve a function. After several conversations with her about art , you can see that she especially admires the role of art in everyday society.  She always has new ideas about things she would like to create, like furniture, jewelry, and various other design products. Cat was part of an amazing artist residency at ClayArch Museum in Gimhae, Korea. I went to the final exhibition, and was very impressed by her works. Her ability to combine nature and other worldly elements results in intricate and stunning pieces. Because being an artist is mostly a solitary activity, artists can be viewed as anti-social or sometimes quite pretentious. However Cat Daze is always encouraging others to create, sharing ideas, and participating in local exhibitions.

She has a solo exhibition coming up!
