Day 7-A lazy day in Koh Chang

Wednesday 7th September, 2011

After spending days doing activities and seeing the sights, we thought we'd treat ourselves and do absolutely nothing today lol.

Well that's not completely true, we did drive into town after an awesome sleep in, and went around doing abit of souvenir shopping. There's alot of t-shirt stalls and ones that sell handcrafted wooden products which are made beautifully. We purchased some elephant figurines and spoons, which will make a great addition to our home.

After the shopping fix, we headed to the beach, found a beach bar hut and settled in for the rest of the afternoon with our books, cocktails and cigars.

Before we drove home in the evening, we wanted to get Darren and his Fiancee Laura a Thank you gift for letting us stay at their home. There was a local artist who had some inspiring artwork for sale, so we went in to have a look. After much decision making, we purchased them some art which we thought would fit in nicely with their home decor.

With the front of the scooter and my backpack full of souvenirs, we had to somehow balance the artwork on the scooter as well. The artist saw we were having abit of trouble and put the huge canvas between Daniel and me. Ok. It seemed to be OK, so off we went...

This was uncomfortable in the sense that I couldn't see where Daniel was turning and the wind kept pushing the canvas on me, so we pulled over and I hang it to my left side and held it close. There. It felt alot better. I would just grip onto it and pray we made it back home with the canvas still with us LOL.

It was now very dark, with only the scooter's headlights guiding our path. We safely made it back, with the canvas included. We don't know when Darren will be back here, as he too only comes on his R&R breaks, so we wrapped it up, along side an elephant figurine we got them and put it away for him and Laura to see when they visit.

Now...it's time for sleep.
