‘MBC Star Audition’ Season 2!

Korea’s Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) is holding auditions in Los Angeles, CA for a new season of MBC Star Audition, the Korean equivalent of American Idol. Earlier this year, MBC Star Audition Season 1 made Korean American singer-songwriter David Oh into a rising star in Korea.

If you would like to try out for the new season, here is some information:

Requirements:

- Anyone who is able to sing at least one song in Korean, regardless of age, gender, or ethnicity. (Note: No professional singers or any one with any kind of recording contract.)

Audition information:

- Date: Saturday, July 16th. (Audition numbers will be decided on a first come, first served basis.)

- Location: Sheraton Los Angeles Downtown Hotel
711 South Hope Street, Los Angeles, CA 90017

Flight, room and board will be provided for those who make the first round so that they can compete further in Korea in an elimination-style audition process until the final winner is selected. The last singer standing will be offered a cash prize, and the chance to officially debut as a singer in Korea.

Applications are being accepted now through July 15, 2011. To apply, visit the official website for more information.
