What constitutes the most ideal eyes

Making the eyes larger is only a small part of achieving attractive eyes. Fat and muscles surrounding the eyes are manipulated and partly excised along with the adjacent skin to give the customers the most ideal eyes of their lifetime.

Small eyes

• Vertically small eyes

• To enlarge the eyes vertically, the surgeon performs a corrective surgery of the eyelids or a surgery that makes the lower eyelid descended downward.

• Horizontally small eyes

• You can have the eyes widened at either side of an eye. The surgeon opens the Mongolian fold and pulls the foldposteriorly making it wider near the nose (medially).

Eyes that are too wide apart

Most Asians have an extra excess amount of skin and tissue overlying the medial aspect (near the nose) of their eyes. This is called the “Epicanthal fold” =”Mongolian fold”, creating an erroneously appearance of the eyes (an illusion of “hypertelorism”or eyes that are abnormally wide apart. )

In this case, you can choosefrom 2 different techniques : the incision-technique or the non-incisiontechnique (the buried suture technique) while the fat is removed. For those who have too much of a muscle mass or have bulky eyes, the non-incisoinal technique (=buried suture technique)is not feasible.But, there is no need to worry. You can still have beautiful eyes through the incisional technique .

Asymmetric eyes(Eyes that are not symmetrical)

This is because the lateral part (near the sides) of the eyelids descendslateral hooding) more with time when compared with the middleand the medial side (near the nose) due to the relative absence of muscle fibers (frontalis) in the lateral aspect. With lateral canthoplasty or canthopexy, the hooding can be addressed and at the same time, a more augmented lateral area can be achieved exposing more percentage of the white part of the eyeball (sclera) resulting in more natural looking eyes.

Dark circle refers to the lower eyelid dark shadowing and hyperpigmentation just below the lower eyelashes. There are several factors contributing to the formation of the dark circle: these include hyperpigmentation, poor circulation, loss of skin tonicity, and excess fat underlying the skin. Moreover, with natural aging, the hyperpigmented area may even appear irregular on its surface. To make situation worse, the ligament structure called the CPF (Capsulopalpebralfasica) becomesloose by wear and tear mechanism as the person ages. This may create a protrusion of the lower eyelid called the “ baggy eyelid” .

The formercan address all of these problems by making incision below the eyelashes and reorientating fat or removing some excess fat and finally lifting and anchoring tissue upward and excising some excess skin. The latterapproach address the baggy eyelid and irregularities of the skin surface by reorientating orbital fat downward to the cheek area or excising some excess orbital fat. This procedure however cannot address skin excess since skin is never incised in the first place. Depending on the problem, the surgeon can recommend the surgical technique necessary to each individual patient.

Eyes with poking eyelashes
