Location:

Event Type:

Window to Korean Culture - The 150th Monthly Event

We would like to invite you to our monthly event.
We want to help foreigners to know about Korean culture.

This month we will learn "Samulnori".
It literally means tp play four Korean traditional instruments.
The four instruments are kkwaenggari(the hand gong),  janggo(the hourglass drum), buk(the folk drum), and jing(the large gong). These instruments play various garaks(rhythm) or arrangements of beats.
The players of samulnori do not dance, so the emphasis of the performance falls on percussive virtuosity.
