The Nolita Festival is a 3-day festival in Busan exploring aspects of playfulness in creativity across disciplines. Featuring leading local talents, in both wellness and artistic realms dealing with the physical body. Play is powerful. Play is precious. Play is something to hold dear, to value, cultivate and share. Play anchors us back into the very basics of our senses and skin. From that embodied space, play connects us to each other and bridges the multicultural divide.
The Nolita Festival was borne out of one magical moment in Mexico. Combining the words, 놀이 (noli- to play) + -”ita” (the diminutive in Spanish giving the feeling of cute, innocent, endeared to one’s self) “nolita” itself translates into the word “playground.” That’s what this festival is: a playground for connection, inspiration, exploration and play. Magic is not limited to geographical bounds of Mexico- it is created in the alchemy of coming together and creating- movement, music, or even just a moment of pause.
