Equestrian championship to be held in S. Korea

The 9th World University Equestrian Championship will kick off on Oct. 30 and run for four days in Sangju, some 270 kilometers south of the country's capital Seoul, and is expected to draw over 200 college students and staff from 23 countries including the Netherlands, Germany and France.

The racing course, which was completed in August, is ready to host the international event a... fter having held three domestic equestrian events successfully, according to the organizers.

On the sideline of the four-day equestrian competition, there will be various cultural events and shows for visitors and local residents.

An equestrian martial arts performance will be held in the main venue two times a day, and magic shows and hip-hop dance performances will be shown in evenings, the organizers said.

Chrysanthemum flowers will also be exhibited around the racing course, they said.
