where to get a copy of a marriage license in pusan

My parents were married in Pusan in 1974. I am needing to get a copy of their marriage license for retirement purposes. Any idea where to start? I speak no Korean, mother speaks little English, neither speak to dad, haha. Thank you for any help you can give. Charles Grigsby

The form you need is called the 혼인관계증명서 (hon-in gwan-gye jeungmyungseo).  I'm not sure if you can get it on your parents' behalf or not, but if you are in Busan you should be able to pick those up at your local 동사무소 (dongsamooso), a dong-office.  Those offices are sometimes also called 주민센터 (joomin center).  Stick the Korean into google maps or whatever and you should be able to pull up the ones close to you.  You might need to go to the ward office, called a 구청 goochung  (as in Haeundae-gu chung, Suyeong-gu chung, etc), but I think the local dong-office should be fine.

Good luck!
