Phyllo Pastry...

Would anyone know where to find Phyllo pastry in Busan?? Looking to make some spanakopita, or the like. TIA!!!

Re: Phyllo Pastry...

In all my years here, I've never seen any kind of pastry whatsoever, not even online.

Either sneak it back in in your suitcase when you go back home or make it yourself.

I've opted for the latter, and although it's not phyllo, puff pastry can be pretty easy to make, although a little time consuming. I use this great recipe from Delia Smith as my base and then just keep folding the pastry in 3 (like a letter) and rolling out again. Repeat several times and then let the pastry rest in the fridge for about 30 minutes and repeat. I find two or three workings of the pastry is enough for great sausage rolls and pies.

Re: Phyllo Pastry...

Thank you! I thought that's what i'd have to do.....Maybe there are some greek peeps here that know how to make it? "You're dreaming!" as my co-worker would say.....

Re: Phyllo Pastry...

I bought the last three boxes of phyllo pastry from Seoul about a year ago.  You'll have to make your own until that company brings any back.  It's almost impossible to find.
