List of Korean smartphones that you've been able to use abroad?

In the market for one, just wanna know people's experiences with taking them abroad and whether or not they could use them with ease.  Wi-fi should work anywhere, I get it--I'm talking about being able to slip in an international sim card when travelling.

Pick a phone you want, check out what frequencies it uses, check the countries you want to go to and make sure they match.  I think an Iphone 3/3gs/4/4s (unlocked) will work in just about any country.  I went through the manuals of the Galaxy S3 E210S/K/L models and wrote down all the frequencies they use on XDA if it is helpful for you.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31941726

Yes it is true the frequencies and technology should tell you the most important facts. However often there are multiple versions of the same phone that are marketed the same but in the end have different frequencies and features depending on the region where you bought it.

For what it is worth:

Samsung Galaxy Nexus bought 2012 in Korea from SK Telekom:

* Germany, Netherlands with LTE, UMTS

* not in Italy, Swizerland I believe since no LTE available and the UMTS might be on a different band than Germany and Korea

I use a Samsung Galaxy Note on the 3G network in Singapore. Saying that, I bought the phone in Singapore so I'm not sure if it is a different model. Mine takes a sim card; so I guess if the same model that is sold in Korea has a sim card, it should be cool.

I used a Galaxy S1 in Hong Kong and Australia. The Galaxy S1 sold by SK Telecom, is unlocked so I was able to use it with an Australian pre-paid SIM. My understanding is now all phones are sold unlocked, but you would need to check with the individual operator.
