Climbing/Bouldering in Busan

Climbers,

I am new to Busan (Saha) and dying to hit up some real rock! I have boulder shoes, harness and all with me- but I need a crew to show me the ropes around Busan! Anyone take trips on the weekends around Busan, I would love to join! I brought the almighty slackline with me as well.

Also, does anyone know of any boulder/climbing gyms near Saha-Hadan?

HELP!!!  :) Ben

Re: Climbing/Bouldering in Busan

Hey Ben,

There's lots of climbing to be had in Busan, and lots of folks to climb with.  The closest gyms to you would be Mtn Bank (the store is good but I've heard that the gym isn't) in the Busan stn area and the Deokcheon climbing gym in Deokcheon (there's a bus that goes from Hadan to Deokcheon, takes maybe 30+ minutes).

There are a couple of good crags in the city as well, one which is in Hadan.  Lots of boulders up on Geumjeongsan by PNU.   Check out Korea on the Rocks (KOTR) for more areas and to get in touch with more climbers.   Give me a hollar if you want to come up to the Deokcheon gym. 010-8692-9679

Cheers,

Jake

Nice! I'll save your number- still haven't bought a cellphone though- do you take any trips to outdoos?... Do you know of any place that sells crashpads? ... I had to leave my precious pad back home unfortunately... Benjamin

Re: Climbing/Bouldering in Busan

Hey,

From what I've heard crash pads are hard to come by over here.  Best thing to do is to put up a post on KOTR to find other bouldering folks in the area and to see if you could buy a crash pad from someone who's on their way out of Korea.

Btw, a bunch of us have started to go to the gym in Sajik on Wednesday night at around 6.  Come on out if you can make it.
