Just to give you a heads up about the new law on scooter registration. I was a witness to an scooter accident today and found out few things about the new law from the police. Most of the foreigners drive the scooters that are less than 125cc , thinking that you do not need to register it. But the new law indicates that All the scooters even 50cc need to be registered now. And if you do not have a Korean drivers licence, make sure that you get one. I just took in my licence from the States and they gave me a Korean one without any tests. And one more thing....if you ever get into an accident on your scooter, call the police right away. Most of the station provide an interpreter so make sure you don't just walk away. In a Car-scooter accidents , usually thr car has more faults so make sure you get the police report and the medical attention without worrying about the bill. The girl who got hit by the car injured her foot pretty badly and had to get a surgery done. Because it was not her fault, the other person's insurance will pay for everything. But the police said she still has to go to the station later for driving without a licence on a non registered scooter. So make sure that everyone gets their scooters registered if you don't wabt to be fined. Drive carefully all.
