Chiropractors in Busan

I used to go see a chiropractor in Dongnae and is quite good (actually great) but he raised his prices to 50 000WON so I stopped going there. I went to Stephen twice (the guy who has an ad on here) but after the second time I saw him I needed up in the hospital with the worst headache ever.  It was the first time I had ever gone to the hospital because of a headache but something in my neck was just not right. I called to make an appointment with Stephen but he said he did not make appointments and in fact, get very defensive about me having to go to the hospital. I tried to explain I did not blame him and the fact I wanted to come back again was proof of this but he refused to see me again.  In hindsight, this may have been good as on top of this problem, he mentioned to me I had scoliosis-as did my wife and in fact my friend to. I had been going to chiros for 15 years and this is the first time I had ever heard this. So terrible headache and scoliosis-hmmm?  Anyway, I heard that the new hospital in Haeundae has a chiro there and was wondering if anyone had been there yet? I have been to the one in Centum and one blind one in Haeundae but they were not real chiros.  I love the guy in Dongnae but I would rather stay close to home-and not spend 50 bucks. Comments?  And as for Stephen, I actually went there because of a bad back-not neck so that was very strange. I did like him though for the record. Stephen seemed okay and the price was good. Oh well. Cheers!

Re: Chiropractors in Busan

lol we are going to do this again? you are so defensive. i said you were good. i wanted to come back. but because this kind of nonsense i do not.  and again, the headache that put me in the hospital, i even said so many times to you before and again here-i did not blame you for the headache. you even said it was not caused by the adjustment and i never disagreed. why do you think i was wanting to come back? do i need to start pasting all of our emails on to here to refresh your memory? geeze, it has only been a few weeks-you should remember that.

for the record, again, i wanted to come back and see you were so rude in your emails- the whole dr thing, headache thing, appointment thing, my time thing, as you said, 'attacking thing' and...was crazy.  i went there with my wife. we liked you. we went again. i had a headache after but i wantd to come again and then you got so defensive about everything. why? makes no sense!

somehow you think i dont think you are good or that i am disrespecful because i dont call you dr or because i want an appointment? in canada i never called my chiro dr bec they are not in my books. they cant prescribe meds for me and their schooling is a lot less than even people who do phd's. anyway, the most respect one can show is wanting to come back man. and i did that and wanted to again-even after my killer headache that landed me in the hospital. all i wanted was a little respect in the name of an appointment. seems fair but you couldnt do it so i still said i would come in first thing just to make sure i did not have to wait so dont worry about the appointment.

stephen, all i did was ask for an apointment so i did not have to wait for an hour. that is all. you got all sarcastic about 'my prescious' time and so on and it was so rude. my time is prescious and i didnt want to waste it sitting around your office. it is not like you are dr here where patients come and go in 2 mintues. chiros take time stephen.

i wont reply to this again. we did it once and it was one thing after another. to crazy man. by the way, i did say the one in dongnae was good but expensive so i was not pushing people there. your rates are much better. what else can i say? take care stephen. sincerely, good luck.

Re: Chiropractors in Busan

I  have  had only good experiences with Dr. Stephen. No other doctor has ever allowed me to walk in for treatment w/o an appointment (with the exception of emergency rooms.) I have never waited longer than 20 minutes before being treated...and the staff is very friendly.

Re: Chiropractors in Busan

i liked him to.  just after asking for an appointment he went off on me. he knows his stuff and the price is good. i just wished, because i had a big problem with having to go to the hospital-i could have  set time to come in. it is great people can swing by and wait around but i dont have the time. i still said i would come in first thing then but then there was another problem of me not calling him dr. sorry, but chiros are not doctors. they dont go to school for 10 years and so on. they cant prescribe meds.  i went twice and wanted a third-that is respect. all i wanted was an appointment and when he did not say okay, i said i would come in first thing. end of story. but then he starting talking about my prescious time like it was not important. it was rude and condescending. he is good, but i dont need that from someone-especaially from someone running a biz and i told him as much. respect is earned-not granted because of titles. just how i roll.

just a sampler-my second email to him. if this is rude then i guess i am wrong and i apologize:

It was strange. I have been going to chiros for almost 20 years and sometimes I do get little headaches after but nothing like this. I do get migraines but never have I had to go to the hospital. I only told you because I will come in next week and as a chiro, I think you should know about things like that. Playing, manipulating, adjusting, whatever you want to call it, with anyone's neck is dangerous so...

I will probably be by on thursday. If I can swing by, I would like an appointment, however. I am not fond of hoping you are not busy and waiting around. If I can swing by I'll get my wife to phone and set something up. Cool-

Paul

Then he blasted me (my prescious time)and other chiros (no good). My next email:

Well, you got one thing right-it is my prescious time and I do not like wasting it sitting in an office. This seems bad to you. This is unusual-

As for appointments-yes, doctors dont allow you to make appointments here but in your case, you are a chiro and treatment takes much longer than someone looking at your throat so it makes sense. If two people are waiting I would have to wait almost an hour. This is reasonable- People have time like this to waste waiting- Maybe some but not me. Hey, this is not wrong. I did say I would still come-not just as often. I am not some hagwon 3-9 worker, I am busy so my time is valuable. I work full time at my university, I have other part time jobs, and I am writing a book (200 typed pages) among other things I am doing so I dont like wasting time. Others may not care but I do. I dont think this is wrong. Pretty normal for someone who is busy.

And finally, regarding headaches, yes, I get some after adjustments sometimes. I told you about this big one because as someone who is qualified to move my neck around, I thought it was important you know I had some major problem. I was not supposed to tell you- This is not important for you to know- I think it is. I told you out of respect for your knowledge of people's necks and so on. If you were some quack I would not bother telling the person-I would jsut not go again. But if in your case, I actually asked for an appontment. Think about that. I did not blame you or say I would not come. Quite the opposite, so I am not sure why this has gone from wanting an appointment to blasting me and other chiros- I come to you because I agree, others are not as good and charge more. I am no fool. But really Stephen, be kind. All I asked for was an appointment so I would not have to wait around. Nothing mroe nothing less. You said no, I thought strange, but said
okay, it is your biz, see you soon.

Anyway, I will see you later-probably one day when you first open.

Paul

And on it went:

you are very defensive and i am not sure why- now we are talking JOB titles- all i wanted was an appointment. geeze!...

Again, if I was rude then  i am wrong. I will own up to that. But his replies, which I wont post, just kept on getting more personal and demeaning towards me. The worst thing is, I was there because of a low back problem. My neck was never the reason i went to any chiro. So the whole argument he could not see me because he was worried about my neck is false-i had a low back problem...lol my last email:

"the funniest thing about everything is i came into see you because of my low back. my neck was never the problem. my whole life it has been about my low back. some how this was forgotten. that is funny in a sad way. take care. thanks."

Oh well. Anyway, I agree with the other posts, he is good. No question. That is why I wanted to go back. I guess in the big picture I should have said dr but i didnt. Just the way it was back home and with the other chiro in Dongnae so I didnt think it was wrong.  So, good luck Stephen, I truly wish you the best.

Re: Chiropractors in Busan

You know what, if I dont tke responsibilty for my life then who is running it? My apologies Stephen. I should have just gone in and waited like everyone else without commenting on you not allowing appointments. This made everythin go down hill. My bad. Sorry. You are a good chiro (although this was never disputed but I wanted to say again). The End. Good luck!

Re: Chiropractors in Busan

No offence Paul but you sound like a whining child. We all have busy lives and nobody wants to sit around waiting to see anybody, what makes your life more important that you should get an appointment whilst everyone else waits?

Re: Chiropractors in Busan

Sorry turns 26, gotta disagree with you, this has to be the best entertainment on here for weeks. Bit like a soap opera, never know what is coming next.

I look forward to coming back to my apartment in the evening, flashing up the computer and catching up on the story line.

Re: Chiropractors in Busan

Could you provide us with the Chiropractors address in Dongnea? I have some issues that I would like to get worked out! Thanks

Re: chiros

Hi Jay Vander - please can you give me specific directions to the guy in Dongae? I presume he speaks English? Also I heard that this one is not actually qualified / certified as a Chiropractor - I can't believe that this is the case......?

Thanks

Re: Chiropractors in Busan

Guy in Dongnae doesn't speak any english, you should definitely take a korean friend with you. He's good though. A bit pricy though. 50,000. I went over a year ago....and a year before that I heard it was 25,000. Could have gone up.

But he does a nice massage before getting started to losen you up to he doesn't hurt you. overall lasts about an hour I think.

Im not sure on specific address though. I got the information over a year ago from Paul. But its somewhere in Dongnae near subway.

Re: Chiropractors in Busan

I was wondering if anyone you could help. I am moving to south Korea Geoje or Busan in Oct 2011. My partner is Qualified Chiropractor from the UK and I am trying to find contact and people objective is to find her a job there( Geoje/Busan) as a chiropractor, is that possible ? Please let me know any clinics or individuals I can talk to .. many thanks

Re: Chiropractors in Busan

This is not fact this is only what I've heard...
In order to have a business in Korea you need to be a citizen or one of these things:

-Get Married or pass TOPIK exam to get an F-visa.
-Get an investor's Visa...about $100,000...you just have to wire 100,000,000 won into a Korean Account from a Foreign account to show that you've invested in Korea. It used to be 50,000,000 but recently changed.

Also try talking to this man http://www.byhand.co.kr/

He has a certification from Australia and has his Oriental Medicine Degree from Korea or whatever. I don't know what the process is to get that.

I don't know how willing he would be to share his info as it would make him competition but he may give some good advice.

His clinic is located in Suyoung.

Anyway, that's all the info I know. Good luck.

Re: Chiropractors in Busan
