Hi there, I have been away for awhile and need to get a certified cheque to pay for a criminal record check back in Canada. I went to my Nong Hyup branch in Haeundae because I am pretty sure I had obtained one there several years ago. I was told they don't issue them which I don't really understand. It seemed to me that the person didn't really know what I was asking about. She asked the manager who repeated what the teller said. Is anyone familiar with a bank that issues certified cheques? I know I had one made up in the past, but I can't remember where it was done. Any current info would be greatly appreciated.
Re: Banks that Issue Certified Cheques
Are you asking for it to be in Canadian dollars? I'd go back and ask them for a 'money order' in that currency.

Yes, you should be able to get a money order in Canadian dollars. I wouldn't go to farmers, fisherman mutual(nong/su-hyup) but one of the bigger banks should be ok. Korea exchange bank or busan bank or jae-il. Good luck.....make sure it's payable to the receiver general or whomever you have in Canada.
