I've been told it's possibly to walk from Haeundae to Cheongsapo or Songjeong along the coast. I'm not talking about walking along Dalmaji road or the paths through the woods just below the road, but a path that goes closer to the train tracks and the ocean at the bottom of the hill.
While taking the train, I've seen a path that runs just below the train tracks and connects the little military observation posts. Is this the trail that is possible to walk along?
Does anyone know where this trail starts and ends?

I tried it before and it wasn't too succesful. You can skip half of Dalmaji by walking up from Jangsan, but either way you have to go all the way up to HaeunMaru (the tallest peak on Dalmaji Road). When I tried I ended up having to traverse coastal rocks and eventually climb up to the train tracks.
There's the road that goes through the mountain, but it has no sidewalk. you can risk it if you want, but it's pretty unsafe. Sadly, until the Busan gov realizes it'd make a hell of a lot of sense to extend the #2 subway line out to Songjeong, your best bet is still a cab.

if you figure out a cool route, document it and send it to me... sounds like a good article for the magazine.

The walk from Chungsapo to Sungjung is easy and takes about 45 minutes at a very casual pace. To get there go down the big hill into Chungsapo. Take the first left that you come to. There is a wealthy looking temple at the corner. Walk straight for a few minutes until the road dead ends. you will see the path into the woods. It is pretty well traveled and easy to follow. It keeps in view of the water, but does wind through the mountains when you get closer to Sungjung. It never crosses the railroad tracks. There are some choices for different paths, but stay closest to the water and it should pop you out near the turtle ship restaurant.
You can also extend it by walking the moon trail from Dalmaji hill to get to Chungsapo. Happy Hiking!
