advice please: what are the standard part time hourly rates?

if any of the forum experts could please advise,

what is the range for the standard part time hourly rates for a new teacher?


and what is the range for the part time hourly rates for an experienced teacher with 5 years of teaching in korea.

I don't think there's any set standard.  Most I've seen fluctuate between 20 to 40 thousand...average for a part time gig seems to be around 30K.  I don't think experience much matters.  If the experienced teacher isn't happy with the wage, the hiring institution would likely just find someone who is willing to take the proposed amount.

It really depends on the work and time period. For a hagwon I would say 35k an hour for a minimum of a 3 hour block. For a business conversation class for 1 hour 60k an hour. For a special purpose business class 90k to 100k an hour assuming a 1 hour class. For a 1 day seminar at least 500k a day. If I were an E2 I would charge more than this as I'd be risking my visa but discount by about 10k won an hour. If you teach kids I'd group them in fours at 25k an hour each, which sure beats working in a hagwon. 25 hours a month at 100k about matches a hagwon's pay.
