Restaurants Open Late?

I work late (get out at 10), and it seems like everything except McDonald's is closed by the time I'm free.  I've got friends coming into town soon, and it would be nice to have dinner with them after work.  Any suggestions?  The Nampo and Seomyeon areas would be especially great.  Thanks in advance!

Korean restaurants are open till late.

It depends on what sort of food you want. There are plenty of Korean restaurants open late. Some even 24 hours. I don't know about Nampo, but I know in Seomyeon there are Sam Gyup Sal, Dwaeji Guk Bap, Hae Jang Guk and Gamja Tang as well as places selling stuff like Guk Su and Su Jebi, Mandu and Bibimbap

Then there are the hoards of Korean bars where you get 'side dishes' anju which include 'delights' such as fried chicken, potato chips and sausage platters to name a few.

If any of this is what you are looking for, let me know here and I will try to give you directions. It's ages since I've been out in Seomyeon but most of the places / areas still exist.

 Even where I live in

Even where I live in Saha/Hadan, I found 5-6 24 hour places within  a three-minute walk of my building - you just have to do some searching.

Rather than write a bunch of

Rather than write a bunch of complicated directions I thought it quicker to make a quick map. Hopefully you have basic Korean. I will start off behind Lotte department store / hotel which is easy to find.

1. Po Jang Maja Street - (Orange soju tents) - Mussels, grilled mackerel, BBQ shrimp and ramyeon! Great fun. Pick the busiest looking one. After you have finished look for a black or black and white striped tent (presuming they are still there) these are cocktail tents kind of funky sitting under canvas drinking a Mai Tai.

2. Pork street. Dwaeji Guk bab (pork and rice soup) and Hae Jang Guk (pig spine soup) are the order of the day here. Don't be put off by the smell. The food is delicious.

3. 먹자거리 Mokja Geori (Let's eat street) dozens of outdoor vendors selling the staples of o-deng(fish sticks), dokkboki(spicy rice cake stew) and twigim (Korean tempura)

4. Bar street. This is where young Koreans come to party. Side dishes readily available.

5. There is a really popular 24 hour Sam Gyeop Sal restaurant on this street. There also used to be (not sure if it is still there) really good Japanese bar / restaurant.

6. There are tons of restaurants around here serving all kinds of food.

7. There is no number 7 on my map!

8. Right behind Lotte department store you will see a convenience store on the corner. Up the alley immediately next to this convenience store is a really cool chicken restaurant. I highly recommend the garlic chicken and make sure to check out the toilet on the second floor. If you can fit throught the door. It's kind of small!

9. I have no idea if it's still there, but there used to be a really good sam gyeop sal restaurant on the corner here.

another good hint is to look

another good hint is to look at all the restaurants and see if they have a "24" on the sign...that means they are open 24 hours..
