Multiple Original documents for multiple part times jobs?

Hey there!

First of all let me apologize if this is already on the site somewhere.

(I don't see how it could not be on here already honestly)

I'm trying to make the transition from a yearly contract hagwon instructor to a sort of part time freelancer.

I was just wondering if you need a seperate set of Original Apostilled CBCs and degree Apostilles for every part time job you get.

For those go-getters with 6 part time jobs all over different cities and districts, what do you do??

I already feel a little defeated for accepting the fact that I need a seperate health check for every place I ever work at....

I thought since I was already registered with some office (I don't know which, my old hagwon boss just did as she thought best) one original copy of either would be fine and I could just make copies.

Also, the new hagwon I interviewed with told me I need my Degree Apostille, but I already gave the Apostille to immigration (or MOE?) when I got my E-2 Visa (I now have my F-4). Is my original diploma not enough?

I don't know how anyone would have information about working in Korea if it wasn't for little communities like this... thanks!

As for diplomas and police reports i think you are sol .Koreans think it is so easy to make those reports . In Korea you can get a Korean police report in a matterof days but a usa police check may take 3 months or more .Other documents may not be able to be made unless you are in america . However in  regards to the medical papers . When you get a hospital check ask them to give you 4 or how many papers you think you may need . IT will cost you alittle more but much less then another test.. In Feb the medical papers had to be within 3 months but in July I heard that was changed to a month . So you should try to file all papers at about the same time .

Oh man thanks for the reply.

I asked around and there seems to be a difference in the need between having original copies or just copies depending on the hours you are working.

I am guessing with full time jobs you need everything original, but if you only work a few days a week or how ever many hours, you don't need the actual originals, just proof you had them at one time.

I also heard about the the new one-month expiration of health checks.

When I was getting my papers in America, the policman taking my fingerprints asked me what I was getting them for.

I said I needed to get an FBI CBC for a job and he was like, "That must be one badass job you are trying to get."

I didn't have the heart to tell him that I was just going to teach conversational English...

Re: Multiple Original documents for multiple part times jobs?

Normal logic suggests that you dont need so may papers for a part time job. However I think some in the community are just trying to make teachers jump through a    burning hoop and thusly trying to reduce the number of native teachers. Last year I was asked to give original documents for a once a week 3 hour job. At the time I did not have them ., At last the owner of the school just closed the native teacher class. I really think some Koreans want to reduce the number of native teachers. As some on this site has mentioned F visa should not teach English. Nowadays we are treated badly by the schools and some government groups. It would be better to work in a company or run are own businesses in my opinion. Let the Korean students study konglish with the Korean teachers while those in China , Japan , Vietnam study with native teachers. Perhaps Koreans think they dont deserve to study English anymore they want to study Konglish .
