Finding non-teaching job in Korea as a multilingual

Hi, I would like to ask about finding non-teaching work in South Korea. I intend to go to live in Korea in Summer 2012 and I wish to find non-teaching work out there to make the most of my languages and experience. I speak fluently in French and Japanese (Level 1 Proficiency held) and have native English and upper intermediate korean. I intend to spend about a year or so studying Korean in Korea to become fluent in Korean also, and this will also allow me to get my feet on the ground looking for jobs in the meantime. I understand that networking and finding positions through friends is a big way to find jobs and I have a couple of possible connections I could make as I know prominent Korean professors from my university and have Korean friends in certain companies.
However I am aware that there are many bureaucratic difficulties when
hiring foreigners particularly with visas. What possibilities are available and what do you think is the best way to go about finding an ideal job? I recognise that having specialist knowledge beyond languages is important, to set me apart from Koreans who are proficient in English and Japanese, of which there are a fair few. Ideally, I am looking to work in Corporate Governance Research and Responsible Investment as I have 2 years of experience in this, and worked as a freelance Japanese-English translator alongside this as well as an addition 1.5 years extra work experience in other fields, including oil and gas research and international breakdown assistance in France.

Any advice is much appreciated!
