Apostille Stamp

My school has informed me that I need an apostille stamp for my degree and criminal background check. Does anyone know some information on how to get this done from Korea?

Re: Apostille Stamp

Every country has a different process for apostille stamps and in the US every state also has a different process.

Where are you from (country/state)? With that I can point you towards more specific information.

Re: Apostille Stamp

It's that special time of the year again when the sleigh bells ring, ring, ring like a madhouse. Sadly, that Santa cat, his social calender seems to be booked, so you'll have to make arrangements elsewhere. Wouldn't it be nice?

If you're looking for those things fast, then US Authentication or ApostillePros seems to be your best options. ApostillePros, I've heard, are the quickest, measures by a span of weeks, but also comes with a hefty price tag. Something in the hundreds, minus shipping costs. And if you've justified using their pricey services, then you'll probably also need FedEx- quick, but also pricey at something like $60 per pop.

If you've some time, then you may be able to forego the middlemen and go direct- send your information to the FBI, wait 'til they send it back, send it to your state clerk or the US Dept. of State for a stamp.

OR you can do as I did- Send all your papers to the FBI and have them forward it to the State Department. I can't say how effective this method is since I just sent it out a week or 2 ago. It's a bit more complicated, but it cuts those pesky middlemen and transit time to a minimum. To employ this method, you will need a FedEx account or something similar.

The main drawback you face by sending it directly to them is that you have to deal with the back and forth, having your papers shipped from the FBI to Korea to send your papers back to the States. Additionally, and more importantly, if you don't use those services, your wait time with the State Department distends. Physicallly bringing it to the US DoS apparently guarantees a stamp within a matter of days, if not instantly. If you send it in, the official word is a few weeks, if not like month. Officially.

All this assuming you're from the States.
