I also will be needing to withdraw money...

I have tried to withdraw money using my Canadian bank card (that has Cirrus and Maestro) on the back, but I have had no luck at the BS Bank, KB, or KEB bank machines.

Does anyone know of a bank machine that accepts foreign bank cards? Would it work to see a teller during bank hours?

Thanks again!

Re: I also will be needing to withdraw money...

I had the same problem with my bank card from the UK. I had to use a ATM specific for foreign cards at KEB, maybe other banks have them too!!  Maybe you will need to locate one of the ATM's within a larger branch.

Re: I also will be needing to withdraw money...

Thank you for all your advice!

I tried an ATM that said "global transactions" and had the Cirrus logo, but it still only gave me the domestic card option.

I live in Uam-Dong, so the bath house you mentioned is a little far, but maybe I could make a trip out of it on the weekend.

Meanwhile I'll use my credit card and maybe try going to a teller this week.

This is where knowing some oldsters in town can come in handy.

Your best bet is most subway stations that have the "HanNet" ATMs, but most will only allow you to withdraw increments of less than 200,000 won.

Even better are the ATMs found at most 7-11s, which work well for my CIBC card and allow you an even greater withdrawal amount.
