ARKPodcast Episode 14 – Wanna Be Loved

Things have cooled down substantially the past week in fandom, so this week’s free talk is a little less controversial. Noelle is sick this week, just a few days before her birthday, poor girl. The fact that she’s edited this episode so quickly is testament to how insane she is.

Free Talk:

Artists and their insane schedules, overwork, exhaustion and health concerns. This was thought up after a part of SNSD’s schedule was leaked, along with Dong Bang Shin Ki’s. Super Junior’s Leader Leeteuk commented about the fans’ response to Super Junior’s killer schedule. This has been a concern for both of us for quite a few years now, especially after Younha’s past incident.

Artist Spotlight:

Stony Skunk

A duo formerly under YG Entertainment’s label, Stony Skunk comprised Skul1 and S-Kush and despite the major label presence they were more or less underground artists. One of the few artists I can think of that recorded reggae music, they were able to carve out their own niche. They released four studio albums before disbanding: Best Seller, Ragga Muffin, Skunk Riddim, and More Fyah. Kush currently still works for YGE as a producer, while Skul1 went solo briefly in the US in 2008 before getting drafted and has now left the label and joined Brand New Stardom and releasing his first solo EP, Korean Reggae and its lead single, Don’t Walk away.

A little background info on the Rastafarian Movement, I’ve grown up around it but never particularly taken the time to get to know what it’s about firsthand, so excuse any inaccuracies in my description in the episode.
