Wangfujing is the place to shop in Beijing if you like retail brands; they have everything.

The Wangfujing snack street, located in hutongs (a narrow street or alley) just west of the main street, is densely packed with restaurants and street food stalls. And, even further north and perpendicular to Wangfujing is Donghuamen Street, which has a night food market, too.

You can have some unique snacks like deep-fried scorpion or seahorse, but my favorite things were suannai (Old-style Beijing Yogurt) and tanghulu (traditional Chinese candied fruit).

Directions: Take subway line 1 and get off at Wangfujing Station. Exit A leads to the commercial street.
