That’s me on a “girl date.” (Second mention of same-sex relationships in Korea!) My friend bought the movie tickets and chose for us to sit in some sort of cushy love seat in the back of the theater. Initially, I was looking around, thinking, “Wow, is this the make-out couples area?” But, no, we were surrounded by other ladies on girl dates.

Other girls in Korea have suggested that we go swimming or shopping together, but this day I felt like doing something more relaxing.

I forgot my wallet (I know, I am a d-bag!). My friend graciously treated me to movie tickets, hot dogs, and then Chinese food afterward. We walked around and shared a parasol. She even had her cousin pick us up in a car and drive me home. Best date ever.
