Job Description

At RightScale, the Technical Account Manager is responsible for building and maintaining a working relationship with our highest profile customers to gain in-depth knowledge of the customers technical support needs and coordinate the efforts of the required personnel to ensure the highest level of service.

They are the customers single named point of contact for all technical related concerns.

The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the customers current and future use of RightScale
  • Maintain consistent and regular communication with the customer to review all things RightScale including but not limited to technical issues, enhancement requests, current and future use-cases, defect escalations, environment and best practice reviews.
  • Staying current with supported technologies and solutions
  • Simultaneously manage multiple platinum customers and contacts
  • Manage daily calendar, travel schedule, and expenses; maintain accurate records of all customer activity.
  • Travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills through all levels of communication.
  • Contribute to the knowledgebase, Wiki and other RightScale resources to help build the best customer experience.
  • Work closely with the team to ensure that all company and personal goals are met or exceeded.

Desired Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate hasa technical background that includes:

  • 5-7 years technical account management or support experience in related industry
  • Technical background in Engineering, computer science a plus
  • 3-5 years experience with Linux, Windows and Open Source technologies
  • Experience with Scripting technologies such as Bash and Ruby
  • Excellent technical knowledge and aptitude for learning
  • Ability to set and maintain goals, welcome feedback and enjoy success
  • Must have excellent, clear writing and verbal communication skills
