Sneak Peek Korea – Halloween Madness!

Sneak Peek Korea is a video series in which I made videos into all the extra footage I get that doesn’t make it into a proper video, and is largely unedited! I film a lot of my life and want to share as much as I can with you, because you seem to like it! :) Before I would just scrap extra footage I didn’t think was good enough for it’s own video, but I hope to instead provide little sneak peeks of my life in Korea, unscripted. Let me know in the comments if you enjoy these kinds of videos!

This sneak peek is of Halloween day at my public elementary school in Yangsan, South Korea. I dressed up as Elsa from Frozen, thanks to my wonderful and talented friend Kate who made the dress! I knew my students would love it, and I’ve never dressed up for Halloween before at school, so I thought it’d be fun! Halloween has gotten bigger and bigger every year since we moved here, and I was shocked at how much Halloween decorations, toys, socks, and costumes I saw at Emart this year! People still don’t celebrate Halloween outside of schools, so no trick-or-treating, but there were a lot more Halloween parties and activities at schools!

The response to my costume was what I predicted, but a lot more overwhelming than I thought! Word spread across the school pretty quickly and it felt like I was getting mobbed at every break time. Overall it was really fun, and I’m glad I got to make my students days! I think next year I’ll dress up again, but organize giving out candy a lot more than I did this year.

If you’re a teacher, did you dress up at your school? Is Halloween celebrated in your country? Let me know in the comments!
