No, not that Sleeping Beauty. You’re gonna have to leave your kids at home for this one, as Julia Leigh’s “Sleeping Beauty” seems to turn the classic fairy tale on its head. The plot revolves around a young girl who’s offered a job as the subject in some strange sexual experiment where she’s poked and prodded at in her sleep. Its disturbing trailer created a lot of buzz before it premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May, where it divided critics and audience members; no surprise given its polarizing material. The film is only screening at the Lotte Cinema in Centum City (on the top floor of the Lotte Department Store), and apparently only twice, so if you’re at all interested, don’t miss it.
