Random pictures, part 53

If you have any random pictures to contribute, please e-mail them to me at chrisinsouthkorea AT gmail DOT com. They need to have a Korean focus (travel, food, people, culture), and be at least slightly weird. Each picture should be accompanied by a 1-3 sentence description. Contributors receive full credit for their photo(s) and a link to their blog / website.

From Manouchka Elefant: Random Eden: As you enter the washroom in Club Eden, the most random/quirkiest statues are there to greet you. Very homoerotic for the women’s bathroom.

From Manouchka Elefant: Aging Coffee: Right next to Yonsei relax with a cup of “Aging Coffee”. You won’t see the years pass-by with this Engrish (aka Angry English).

Clever – give the store a name that sounds like a mega-conglomerate in the entertainment business and sell their wares. Think they’ll mind?

Because if there’s a shining picture of adults drinking and having a good time, it’s… Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz?

Awww… Bendy lights in the shape of a heart…

A little abstract – part of the ‘wall’ separating a club’s entrance from the club itself.

I’m not sure whether to call this cute or disturbing. When did skulls start becoming cute? Seen in Dongdaemun.

If you’ve been to Seoul, you’ve probably seen the ‘Disco Spin’. There’s one in Dongdaemun (pictured above), one in the Sinchon area, and probably others across the country. These things spin and bounce around, all the while featuring techno music and a DJ making fun of the participants if they fall off or get bounced around. Did I mention there’s no seatbelts or restraints of any kind?
