One of my favorite foods in Korea is galbi 갈비 (aka kalbi). Wikipedia defines it as “marinated beef (or pork) short ribs in a ganjang-based sauce (Korean soy sauce).” When we cook it on the grill at a restaurant, it’s an amazing social experience, and surprisingly cheap in Korea.
I have been to several different places, but my favorite places will cook the meat on a cylinder pit of glowing charcoals and then the smoke will by sucked up into an aluminum hose hanging from the ceiling.
I would eat it everyday if I could find people to go with me, and it didn’t make my hair and clothes reek of smoke.
