Lots of easily accessible and free parks to visit in Taipei. Here’s a list of my favorites.

  • The Taipei Botanical Garden is open 5:30 am - 10:00 pm every day. Take the metro to MRT- Xiaonanmen station and go out exit 3.
  • The 228 Peace Memorial Park 2-28 is small but tranquil, just a short walk or one MRT stop from Taipei Main Station.
  • From there you can walk to The National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall which is a Taiwanese national monument, landmark and tourist attraction erected in memory of Chiang Kai-shek, former President of the Republic of China. I like to go during the changing of the guard.
